Elevator repair

Door mechanisms, control systems, drive and ropes. We source parts even where the manufacturer no longer exists.

Repair starts with diagnosis, not with ordering a part. The most common reason for a callout is the doors — rollers, cam, belt or bracket — and less often the drive or the controller itself. The survey says which, and only then is there any point discussing a date or a price.

For modern equipment we order parts from the manufacturer or an equivalent supplier. For Soviet-era mechanisms the original parts are often out of production — in which case the part is sourced on the secondary market or made to pattern. It is a longer route, but it is also why an old elevator is not automatically a write-off.

If the same component needs repairing for the third time in a year, we say so: sometimes the right answer is not the next part but modernization. An invoice for a repair that will recur is not in our interest.

What it covers

  • Door mechanisms

Rollers, cams, belts, brackets and adjustment of the door operator.

  • Control systems

Relay control and modern controllers, landing call panels and the car panel.

  • Drive and ropes

Traction sheave, brakes, ropes and their replacement once worn.

  • Sourcing and making parts

Where the original part is out of production — the secondary market, or made to pattern.

Common questions

01

Do you repair elevators you don't maintain?

Yes — repair is not tied to a maintenance contract. Call and give us the building address, the make of the elevator and its approximate year if you know it; after the survey you get a proposal stating the scope and the date.

02

How long does a part take to arrive?

For modern equipment the supplier sets the lead time and we state it in the proposal. For Soviet-era mechanisms, where a part has to be found or made, the route is longer — so we name the date after the survey rather than over the phone.
